About Antipasto Skewers

Antipasto Skewers are a fun and easy way to enjoy the classic Italian appetizer. Each skewer is loaded with a variety of olives, cheese, artichokes, and more, providing a burst of Mediterranean flavors in every bite. The finishing touch of a sweet and tangy balsamic glaze elevates these skewers to a whole new level.

As for health benefits, these skewers are a powerhouse of nutrients. Olives are known for their heart-healthy fats and antioxidant properties. Cheese provides a good dose of calcium and protein, while artichokes are rich in fiber and vitamin C. The balsamic glaze, besides adding a delightful sweetness, contains polyphenols which have been linked to lower cholesterol levels and improved heart health. Enjoying these skewers not only satisfies your taste buds but also contributes to your overall health.

Tips and Tricks

  • Be careful not to pack the ingredients too tightly on the skewers. This will ensure that each ingredient can be tasted individually.
  • The balsamic vinegar and flaky sea salt should be added just before serving to enhance the flavors of the ingredients.

  • 20 slices of soppressata
  • 20 pitted green olives, drained
  • 10 slices prosciutto, cut in half crosswise
  • 1 12-ounce jar of roasted red peppers, drained and sliced into ½-inch strips
  • 20 slices of Italian dry salami
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 8 ounces of provolone cheese, cut into ¾-inch cubes
  • 1-2 tablespoons aged balsamic vinegar, for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

  1. Fold a slice of sopressata into quarters, and then gently thread onto a skewer, leaving about ½–¾ inch of space from the bottom. Without packing too tightly, add a green olive, a piece of prosciutto folded into quarters, a piece of roasted red pepper folded in half, a piece of Italian dry salami folded into quarters, a basil leaf folded in half, and a cube of provolone cheese. Repeat with the remaining ingredients and skewers.
  2. When ready to serve, lightly drizzle balsamic vinegar over the skewers, avoiding the base. Sprinkle with flaky salt.
  3. Enjoy!

The variety of olives and the balsamic glaze are the stars of this recipe. Olives add a depth of flavor with their unique salty and briny taste, while the balsamic glaze provides a sweet and tangy finish that complements the other ingredients perfectly.
